Natural Start is a childcare service based between Swords and Donabate, only one minute from the M1 motorway! In this idyllic rural setting, surrounded by farmland, hedges and trees we provide a preschool childcare service for children on the ECCE scheme or between the ages of 3 and 6 years old.

Our Outdoor playschool is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to Education and the forest school ethos. Everything we do is based on encouraging respect, responsibility and community through exploration and discovery. Our supportive and enriching childcare environment is based on the interests of the children through a self-guided playschool curriculum.
Children in our playschool benefit from the opportunities that nature provides including freedom of movement, inspiration to discover, extend their abilities and so grow in confidence and independence. Nature encourages curiosity and exploration with the senses and so stimulates spatial awareness, improves balance and agility, manual dexterity, physical coordination, tactile sensitivity, and depth perception. Outdoor play strengthens the immune system and improves the ability to assess risks. It's also proven to improve skills in reading, maths, curiosity, motivation, social behaviour and concentration. This ethos is also child-led as teachers follow the children's interests and build the curriculum around the child.

My Son Noah and daughter Lucy have come on leaps and bounds since they joined the 'Natural Start' preschool. Before they joined the preschool they prefered to stay indoors but now they are very keen on getting out in the elements, regardless of the weather. We have noticed that their energy and confidence levels have dramtically improved. We did a lot of research before we sent our children to this preschool and we are very happy to say that everyone of our high expectations have been met. Irene, the lady who runs the preschool is extremely talented at her job. She brings the children out to play in the lovely grounds, teaches them to cook, plays the piano and guitar for them. And so on. Irene's Husband, Shane, is a gentleman and very friendly and helpful. If you are considering sending your children to this preschool, I strongly recommend that you do so.
